University of Stirling appoints Jocelyn Prudence as University Secretary and Chief Operating Officer

The University of Stirling has appointed Jocelyn Prudence, currently Chief Executive of the Universities and Colleges Employers Association (UCEA), as University Secretary.
Jocelyn Prudence has been Chief Executive of UCEA since 2001, where she has transformed the organisation and made a significant contribution to employment issues in higher education.
She has also worked in further education as Director of Employment Policy at the Association of Colleges (AoC) and in the health sector as Director of Industrial Relations at the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
Alan Simpson, Chair of Court at the University of Stirling, said: “I am delighted that the University of Stirling has appointed Jocelyn Prudence as University Secretary. She has made a huge contribution to higher education in her role as Chief Executive of UCEA.
“She will greatly enhance the team at Stirling and assist us in the delivery of our ambitious plans to address the social and environmental needs of society through innovative, interdisciplinary research and education.”
In welcoming the new University Secretary, University Principal and Vice-Chancellor Professor Gerry McCormac said: “Jocelyn is joining the University of Stirling at a very exciting time. As CEO of UCEA, she has demonstrated success in building its services and effectiveness. We look forward to her arrival and are delighted to have her as a member of our senior management team.”
Jocelyn Prudence said: “I am delighted to be joining the team at the University of Stirling. Ambitious goals have been set by the University in terms of research, scholarship and the student experience. I am looking forward to contributing to the University’s future success.”
