The University is holding a second public consultation meeting on Tuesday 8 November regarding the redevelopment of some of its student residences. Members of the public, University students and staff are invited to attend.
This is the second of two public consultation events being held in advance of a formal planning application being submitted to Stirling Council early next year.
The new accommodation will help maintain Stirling’s enviable position as a place where student satisfaction with the all round campus experience is high. It will enable the University to compete with universities and colleges around the world in providing high quality accommodation which meets the expectations of today’s students.
Karen Plouviez, Director of Estates and Campus Services at Stirling says: “So far we have had one public consultation meeting in October and discussions with local Community Councils. These have all been tremendously useful and productive. We look forward to further input at the second consultation meeting scheduled for 8 November."
The new accommodation will provide students with well designed study bedrooms, spacious kitchens with dining space, increased social space and better connections to the landscape areas around the accommodation. The redevelopment will take place over three years, starting in the summer of 2012.
The consultation meeting will be held on Tuesday 8 November from 6.30 to 8.30pm in Lecture Theatre 2W1 in the Cottrell Building of the University.
