Director Mark Cousins and award-winning actor Tilda Swinton hosted a film workshop on the University of Stirling campus for school children as part of the 8½ Foundation on April 27.
Over 100 children attended the event, held in the macrobert, where they had the chance to star in and produce their own film.
Mark is artistic director of the 8½ Foundation, a Scottish not-for-profit initiative set up with Tilda Swinton, with the aim of introducing world cinema to children.
Mark, who graduated from Stirling in 1987, with a BA in Film and Media Studies with Art History, described the experience of returning to the campus to host the workshop as “amazing”. He added “The day went exceptionally well. The kids were like a big ball of energy. Tilda and I were completely overwhelmed by the vitality and the curiosity of them all.
“My time at Stirling helped me become the person I am today. It has been truly lovely to come back here for this experience as I have many great memories of being at the University and spending time in the macrobert.”
