Celebrating Lunar New Year

Join us from 11:00 on Tuesday 28 January, for a fantastic Lunar New Year's Eve celebration on campus.

Experience a colourful Atrium with immersive workshops, traditional giveaways and a Lion Dance to bring prosperity and luck for the upcoming year - all running as part of the University's 'Be Connected' programme. This year we will also have Sun Wah Mini Mart and Sums Workshop joining us as businesses within the local community.

Sums Workshop will be running hands-on sessions for students and staff to create paper wall hangings in lantern, fish and Chinese 'Spring' character shapes. You will be able to make two New Year decorative items and this will cost £5.00 per person which will go directly to the business. Payment will be taken on the day via cash and we will require you to sign up in advance to take part (just select the time ticket option you would prefer when booking). You will also be able to try free traditional style snacks while crafting and the workshop will take around 30 minutes in the Atrium.

The Lion Dance will be performed at approximately 13:00, for around 20 minutes, so register your interest in attending now and come along to enjoy!
