Join the University of Stirling Art Collection Curators for a talk at the Stirling Smith Art Gallery and Museum.

The University of Stirling Art Collection curators will introduce the magnificent collection of Scottish contemporary art that’s housed within the university’s modernist Pathfoot building. They will discuss key artworks, new acquisitions, and other collections held. The annual exhibitions and public programme are inspired by a university research theme. Currently this is ‘Human Experience’. Sarah and Emma will explore artistic responses to issues raised in this year’s exhibitions, including climate change, social deprivation and Covid 19.

Sarah Bromage

Sarah is Head of Collections at the University of Stirling. She has experience of working across museums and archives where she has a particular interest in contemporary collecting. She acts as Accreditation Mentor for Dunblane Museum, Treasurer of University Museums in Scotland and sits on the Collections Advisory Committee for the University of Dundee.

She is passionate about ensuring equality of access to collections and creating welcoming spaces where people from all walks of life can gather and be inspired by the university’s Scottish contemporary art collection.

This public lecture will take place at The Smith, at 40 Albert Place, Stirling, on Wednesdays at 2:00pm (doors open 1:45pm).
