Overview

As a future researcher, you’ll need to advance your practice of these methods, develop project management skills, understand governance issues, and work as part of a research team.

You will work under the guidance of a dedicated mentor on a live or developing health research project and simultaneously meet your own personalised learning objectives.

You will identify a research placement to suit your interests and we will support you to plan a bespoke research placement experience. Placements are likely to be within your own organisation.

You will:

  • undertake a 12-day (approximately 90-hour) research placement (spread over part-time hours or in a block of time according to your availability);
  • contribute via online methods or in person;
  • put some of your research knowledge, experience and/or training into practice;
  • critically reflect upon your learning experience.

This will help to prepare you for taking ownership of your professional development as a researcher.
