Personal Tutor Scheme policy and guidance

The role of a personal tutor is to help students feel part of the University community. They are a specific and consistent source of guidance, information and support for students throughout their studies. The tutor should be the student’s first formal point of contact for general academic guidance and pastoral support.

If you need help to cope with a student in distress go to the Supporting our Students SharePoint site. It has a wealth of information for staff including how you can make an urgent referral, see what out-of-hours support is available, and learn about the different services our students can be signposted to.
