Academic development
Home of learning and teaching
Academic Development is Stirling's heart of Learning and Teaching: Developing People, Transforming Learning, Creating Communities of Practice.
Our role is to lead staff in enhancing the student learning experience at Stirling. We seek to enable staff to develop their knowledge, skill and passion for learning and teaching, and recognise, reward and share excellence across the University. Our focus is on four core areas in staff development:
Design – including programme level learning outcomes and authentic assessments
Digital – including embracing new technologies to support student learning
Diversity – including supporting inclusive practice and engagement with an increasingly diverse student landscape
Dialogue – developing a community of learning and teaching through conversations, scholarship and recognition
We offer CPD opportunities, including accredited programmes which allow staff to gain reward and recognition for their teaching practice. Our role is to promote an evidence-based approach to learning and teaching and to connect academic staff across the university.
