Staff ID

Available to all employees, the University of Stirling Staff ID (Smartcard);

• Identifies you as a member of staff
• Allows you to use all University library facilities
• Acts as your membership card if you are a Sports Centre member
• Provides identification for Staff discounts
• Enables access to cashless catering facilities
• Simplifies the use of printing devices

The Staff ID card shows a minimal amount of information, including a photograph, your name and your staff identity number. There is also a library bar code printed on the card, and a unique number encoded on the magnetic stripe to allow members to access the sports centre. The card also contains a Mifare chip (as used in the Transport for London Oyster card), which is encoded with a unique number and the bar code number.

You will be issued with your Staff ID card when you start working at the University and will be required to return it to HR Services when you leave.

We require a photo which is uploaded via the portal once you have discovered your IT account. Once you have uploaded your photograph and your details have been checked you will receive an email from HR. You can then come to HR and OD Reception to pick up your card. HR and OD Reception is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 0900 - 1200.
