Dr Magdalena Ietswaart
Member of Academic Staff from 2023
Magdalena Ietswaart is an academic member of staff in Psychology at the University of Stirling since 2013. Prior to that, she held positions at the Universities of St Andrews, Aberdeen, Northumbria, and Durham. She runs internationally connected specialist labs for the study of the brain in health and disease and is passionate about driving scientific advancement with real-world relevance making a difference to people’s lives.
Magdalena is an Executive of SINAPSE which represents Scotland’s medical imaging community, and has led on projects funded by medical charities and government bodies. A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, Magdalena has directed taught postgraduate and postgraduate research programmes at different universities.
Magdalena has been nominated to her current term on Court by the Stirling branch of the University and College Union. She has a keen interest in strategic approaches to improving equality and achieving good (research) culture in higher education.
