Lynne Marr

Lynne has specialised in employment law from the beginning of her career. She works in Brodies top ranked employment and immigration team, is ranked as a leading individual in Legal 500 and has been nominated for employment lawyer of the year 2023. Lynne's practice is varied, she works with clients across all sectors of the UK economy but has a focus on working with clients in the public and charity sector.
In addition to a busy practice, Lynne works with four other partners between Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Aberdeen to manage a large team of employment lawyers and professional development lawyers. She was elected by her fellow partners in 2023 to join the Firm's Strategic Board which is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the firm and its constituent parts. Lynne also sits on the Brodies' education sector group which is a cross-practice group of lawyers with different specialisms delivering advice to the education sector including Universities, Further Education Colleges, Independent Schools and Local Authorities as well as related bodies such as the SQA.
Lynne sits on the Law Society of Scotland's Employment Law subcommittee, which actively looks at and responds to proposed legislation and Government consultations on various aspects of UK employment law. She also regularly participates in groups established by the Employment Lawyers Association to respond to Government consultations and is the contributor on employment law in the public sector in Scotland for the practical law company, the go-to legal resource for practicing lawyers.
