Gozde Ozakinci is Professor of Psychology and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences. She is a health psychologist and completed her first degree in Psychology at Bogazici University, Istanbul, MSc in Health Psychology at University College London, PhD in Psychology at Rutgers -The State University of New Jersey, USA, and her Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapies at the University of Dundee. She was the past Chair of the British Psychological Society- Scotland and President-Elect for European Health Psychology Society (2024-2026). She is a trustee with the Scottish Cancer Foundation.
Research
Professor Ozakinci has joined the University of Stirling in 2021 as the lead of the health psychology research group from University of St Andrews, School of Medicine where she worked for 17 years. Professor Ozakinci’s research focuses on finding solutions to the issues faced by cancer survivors, effective methods of lasting behaviour change, and studying the intersection of health and environmental behaviours.
