Professor Terri Scott
Deputy Principal (Student Experience)
Professor Terri Scott is Deputy Principal for Student Experience. She joined the University of Stirling in April 2024, in an interim capacity.
Professor Scott has had held executive leadership positions in Ulster University (UK) and Dublin City University (Ireland).
Prior to joining us, she was Pro Vice Chancellor at Ulster University, with responsibility for Academic Operations. She previously led two distinctive tertiary education institutions: Insitute of Technology in Sligo (Atlantic Technological University) and Northern Regional College, delivering significant transformation and improvement. She has held visiting appointments at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and San Jose State University
She has built strong connections with UK and Irish governments, having served on public bodies as non-executive director by Ministerial appointment. Professor Scott is currently a member of the Grangegorman Development Agency, a statutory agency established by the Irish Government in a Board member capacity. She is also a Board member of the Northern Health and Social Care Trust and a Board member of the Irish College (Leuven).
She has a record of accomplishment in leading organisational transformation, significant capital investments, delivering change and improvements in performance and building high performing teams.
Responsibilities
As Deputy Principal for Student Experience, Professor Scott’s responsibility is to lead and drive ambitious and innovative approaches to the student experience. Her contribution at University of Stirling will play a full part in shaping the overall strategic direction of the University and will be pivotal in shaping the student experience at the University, fostering an inclusive, supportive, and enriching environment for our diverse student community.
Her focus is on academic leadership and strategy, student voice, engagement, wellbeing and support, EDI, campus life and community engagement.
