Rose Edwards

Rose was appointed as Executive Director of Finance in June 2023.

Rose joined Stirling as the Chief Accountant in 2002 and had been Deputy Director of Finance since 2010. Before joining Stirling, she led the Research Finance team at the University of Glasgow.

Rose is a graduate of Napier University, Edinburgh and holds a BA Commerce. After graduation Rose gained her professional accountancy qualification while working with Scottish Borders Council. Rose has specific knowledge in financial planning and strategy in addition to extensive experience in risk mitigation, financial business models and due diligence.

Responsibilities

The Executive Director of Finance has a lead role in the strategic deployment of resources to facilitate the long-term financial sustainability of the institution and is accountable for ensuring robust financial risk management, good governance, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

The Executive Director of Finance has direct responsibility for setting the strategic direction of the Finance directorate within the University, playing a vital role in enabling institutional objectives and ambitions.
