Equity, diversity and inclusion
Stirling Management School is committed to leading on issues to do with equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and recognises that diversity of staff and students benefits and enriches the work, learning and research experiences of the entire School community. The Faculty is working to embed EDI into its culture and working practices, supported by the University policy framework. You can read more about the University policies here.
Wellbeing, Inclusion, Diversity and Equality (WIDE)
Led jointly by the Associate Deans of Wellbeing, Inclusion, Diversity and Equality (ADWIDE), Dr Juliette Summers and Alie Hilda de Vries, the Management School WIDE strategy is based on four pillars: flourishing, embedding, belonging and academic. The last pillar includes the Athena Swan accreditation, which is a national charter developed by the Equality Challenge Unit of Advance HE to recognise and promote good practice around gender equality.
The Management School received the Athena Swan Bronze Award for gender equality in higher education in July 2021. The award demonstrates our ongoing commitment to equity and inclusion in our policies, practices, action plans and culture.
The Management School EDI Team is responsible for implementing and updating the School’s Athena Swan Action Plan. This Team consists of undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students, Professional Services staff as well as Academic staff, and is chaired by Juliette and Alie Hilda.
